The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas Texas Manufacturing Outlook Survey: February 2016


Today, the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas released their latest read on manufacturing in their region indicating that assessments of manufacturing activity remained in contraction in February with the current general business activity index improving slightly to a recessionary level of -31.8 while the future general business activity index improved to a weak lecel of -2.1.

These results are an indication (consistent with other regional and national manufacturing activity data-points) that the U.S. manufacturing sector has clearly slumped into recessionary levels as of late and provides yet another likely harbinger of what is to come in 2016 for the general economy.

Today, the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas released their latest read on manufacturing in their region indicating that manufacturing activity worsened with the current general business activity index declining to a contraction level of -3.4 while assessments of future general business activity index declined to 15.17.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas Texas Manufacturing Outlook Survey: October 2011

Today, the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas released their latest read on manufacturing in their region indicating that manufacturing activity continued to indicate weakness with the current general business activity index improving to a weak expansion level of 2.3 while the future general business activity index rising to 14.70.

These results are coming, more or less, inline with the other regional manufacturing survey all indicating that business activity has slowed sharply in 2011 and may possibly indicate recession is upon us.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas Texas Manufacturing Outlook Survey: September 2011

Today, the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas released their latest read on manufacturing in their region indicating that manufacturing activity continued to slow with the current general business activity index declining to weaker contraction level of -14.4 while the future general business activity index weakened to -1.5.

These results are coming, more or less, inline with the other regional manufacturing survey all indicating that business activity has slowed sharply in 2011 and may possibly indicate recession is upon us.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas Texas Manufacturing Outlook Survey: June 2011

Today, the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas released their latest read on manufacturing in their region indicating that manufacturing activity slowed somewhat with current production declining to a weak expansion of 5.6 while new orders turned up to a weak expansion 6.4.

The current production index declined to a weak expansion of 5.6 while the the current employment index slowed to 5.3.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas Texas Manufacturing Outlook Survey: November 2010

Today, the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas released their latest read on manufacturing in their region indicating that activity improved with current production, volume of new orders and employment all signaling expansion.

The current production index increased to 13.1 as the current volume of new orders climbed out of contraction from last month at 9.1 as did the current employment index at 5.8.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas Texas Manufacturing Outlook Survey: August 2010

Today, the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas released their latest read on the manufacturing activity of their region indicating that manufacturing activity in the region continued to retrench with current production, volume of new orders and employment all signaling contraction.

The current production index declined to -0.1 as the current volume of new orders index remained firmly in contraction for a third consecutive month at -9.3 and the current employment index declined to -5.1.

These results are effectively confirm other regional measures of manufacturing activity (Philly Fed, Empire state, ISM PMI, etc.) which, taken as a whole, now clearly indicate that nationwide manufacturing activity has slowed significantly in the last several months.
