The Empire State Manufacturing Index: November 2010

The Empire State Manufacturing Survey consists of a series of diffusion indices distilled from a monthly survey of New York regional manufacturing executives and seeks to identify trends across 22 different current and future manufacturing related activities.

Today’s report indicated firm contraction for current activity but more optimism for future activity with the current business conditions index falling to -11.14 while the future conditions index increased to 54.55.

Current new orders dramatically weakened plunging to -24.38 while future new orders increased to 53.25.
