S&P Core Logic Case-Shiller: May 2017

The latest release of the S&P Core Logic Case-Shiller (CSI) home price indices for May reported that the non-seasonally adjusted National index increased from April with prices rising 0.97% while the non-seasonally adjusted Composite-10 city index increased 0.70% and the Composite-20 city index increased 0.81% over the same period.

On an annual basis, the National index increased 5.58% above the level seen in May 2016 while the Composite-10 city index increased 4.94% and the Composite-20 city index increased 5.69% over the same period.

On a peak basis, the non-seasonally adjusted National index recently surpassed the record high level seen prior the onset of the Great Recession rising 3.24% above the level seen in 2006 while the Composite-10 index remained -6.19% below the peak level and the Composite-20 remained -3.66% below.

S&P Core Logic Case-Shiller: March 2017

Today's release of the S&P Core Logic Case-Shiller (CSI) home price indices for March reported that the non-seasonally adjusted National index increased from February with prices rising 0.81% while the non-seasonally adjusted Composite-10 city index increased 0.91% and the Composite-20 city index increased 0.98% over the same period.

On an annual basis, the National index increased 5.75% above the level seen in March 2016 while the Composite-10 city index increased 5.22% and the Composite-20 city index increased 5.89% over the same period.

On a peak basis, the non-seasonally adjusted National index just surpassed the record high level seen prior the onset of the great recession rising 1.26% above the level seen in 2006 while the Composite-10 index remained -7.59% below the peak level and the Composite-20 remained -5.39% below.

Today's release of the S&P Core Logic Case-Shiller (CSI) home price indices for February reported that the non-seasonally adjusted National index increased from January with prices rising 0.24% while the non-seasonally adjusted Composite-10 city index increased 0.33% and the Composite-20 city index increased 0.42% over the same period.

On an annual basis, the National index increased 5.76% above the level seen in February 2016 while the Composite-10 city index increased 5.19% and the Composite-20 city index increased 5.85% over the same period.

On a peak basis, the non-seasonally adjusted National index just surpassed the record high level seen prior the onset of the great recession rising 0.24% above the level seen in 2006 while the Composite-10 index remained -8.41% below the peak level and the Composite-20 remained -6.31% below.

The latest release of the S&P/Case-Shiller (CSI) home price indices for September reported that the non-seasonally adjusted National index decreased from August with prices falling 0.37% while the non-seasonally adjusted Composite-10 city index decreased 0.12% and the Composite-20 city index decreased 0.13% over the same period.

On an annual basis, the National index increased 5.46% above the level seen in September 2015 while the Composite-10 city index increased 4.28% and the Composite-20 city index increased 5.08% over the same period.

On a peak basis, the non-seasonally adjusted National index just surpassed the record high level seen prior the onset of the great recession rising 0.10% above the level seen in 2006 while the Composite-10 index remained -9.07% below the peak level and the Composite-20 remained -7.14% below.

The latest release of the S&P/Case-Shiller (CSI) home price indices for May reported that the non-seasonally adjusted National index increased from April with prices rising 1.17% while the non-seasonally adjusted Composite-10 city index increased 0.76% and the Composite-20 city index increased 0.89% over the same period.

On an annual basis, the National index increased 5.05% above the level seen in May 2015 while the Composite-10 city index increased 4.40% and the Composite-20 city index increased 5.24% over the same period.

On a peak basis, all three indices still show peak declines slumping -2.12% for the National index, -10.59% for the Composite-10 city index and -8.83% for the Composite-20 city index on a peak comparison basis.

The latest release of the S&P/Case-Shiller (CSI) home price indices for April reported that the non-seasonally adjusted National index increased from March with prices rising 1.05% while the non-seasonally adjusted Composite-10 city index increased 0.99% and the Composite-20 city index increased 1.11% over the same period.

On an annual basis, the National index increased 5.03% above the level seen in April 2015 while the Composite-10 city index increased 4.89% and the Composite-20 city index increased 5.44% over the same period.

On a peak basis, all three indices still show significant peak declines slumping -3.21% for the National index, -11.27% for the Composite-10 city index and -9.63% for the Composite-20 city index on a peak comparison basis.

The latest release of the S&P/Case-Shiller (CSI) home price indices for March reported that the non-seasonally adjusted National index increased from February with prices rising 0.72% while the non-seasonally adjusted Composite-10 city index increased 0.79% and the Composite-20 city index increased 0.90% over the same period.

On an annual basis, the National index increased 5.15% above the level seen in March 2015 while the Composite-10 city index increased 4.72% and the Composite-20 city index increased 5.43% over the same period.

On a peak basis, all three indices still show significant peak declines slumping -4.18% for the National index, -12.20% for the Composite-10 city index and -10.66% for the Composite-20 city index on a peak comparison basis.

The latest release of the S&P/Case-Shiller (CSI) home price indices for February reported that the non-seasonally adjusted National index increased slightly from January with prices rising 0.20% while the non-seasonally adjusted Composite-10 city index increased 0.12% and the Composite-20 city index increased 0.19% over the same period.

On an annual basis, the National index increased 5.29% above the level seen in February 2015 while the Composite-10 city index increased 4.61% and the Composite-20 city index increased 5.38% over the same period.

On a peak basis, all three indices still show significant peak declines slumping -4.88% for the National index, -12.94% for the Composite-10 city index and -11.49% for the Composite-20 city index on a peak comparison basis.

The latest release of the S&P/Case-Shiller (CSI) home price indices for January reported that the non-seasonally adjusted National index declined slightly from December with prices falling 0.04% while the non-seasonally adjusted Composite-10 city index declined 0.04% and the Composite-20 city index declined 0.02% over the same period.

On an annual basis, the National index increased 5.43% above the level seen in January 2015 while the Composite-10 city index increased 5.10% and the Composite-20 city index increased 5.75% over the same period.

On a peak basis, all three indices still show significant peak declines slumping 4.96% for the National index, -12.97% for the Composite-10 city index and -11.60% for the Composite-20 city index on a peak comparison basis.

Today's release of the S&P/Case-Shiller (CSI) home price indices for December reported that the non-seasonally adjusted National index increased slightly from November with prices rising 0.09% while the non-seasonally adjusted Composite-10 city index declined 0.06% and the Composite-20 city index increased 0.02% over the same period.

On an annual basis, the National index increased 5.43% above the level seen in December 2014 while the Composite-10 city index increased 5.14% and the Composite-20 city index increased 5.74% over the same period.

On a peak basis, all three indices still show significant peak declines slumping 4.86% for the National index, -12.85% for the Composite-10 city index and -11.51% for the Composite-20 city index on a peak comparison basis.

Today's release of the S&P/Case-Shiller (CSI) home price indices for November reported that the non-seasonally adjusted National index increased from October with prices rising 0.13% while the non-seasonally adjusted Composite-10 city index increased 0.02% and the Composite-20 city index increased 0.06% over the same period.

On an annual basis, the National index increased 5.35% above the level seen in November 2014 while the Composite-10 city index increased 5.35% and the Composite-20 city index increased 5.83% over the same period.

On a peak basis, all three indices still show significant peak declines slumping 4.83% for the National index, -12.70% for the Composite-10 city index and -11.46% for the Composite-20 city index on a peak comparison basis.

Today's release of the S&P/Case-Shiller (CSI) home price indices for July reported that the non-seasonally adjusted National index increased from June with prices rising 0.72% while the non-seasonally adjusted Composite-10 city index increased 0.59% and the Composite-20 city index increased 0.64% over the same period.

On an annual basis, the National index increased 4.69% above the level seen in July 2014 while the Composite-10 city index increased 4.55% and the Composite-20 city index increased 4.96% over the same period.

On a peak basis, all three indices still show significant peak declines slumping 5.15% for the National index, -13.01% for the Composite-10 city index and -11.92% for the Composite-20 city index on a peak comparison basis.

Today's release of the S&P/Case-Shiller (CSI) home price indices for January reported that the non-seasonally adjusted National index declined from December with prices falling 0.05% while the Composite-10 city index declined 0.01% and the Composite-20 city index declined 0.03% over the same period.

On an annual basis, the National index increased 4.47% above the level seen in January 2014 while the Composite-10 city index increased 4.37% and the Composite-20 city index increased 4.56% over the same period.

On a peak basis, all three indices still show significant peak declines slumping 9.73% for the National index, -17.01% for the Composite-10 city index and -16.26% for the Composite-20 city index on a peak comparison basis.

S&P/Case-Shiller: November 2014

Today's release of the S&P/Case-Shiller (CSI) home price indices for November reported that the non-seasonally adjusted Composite-10 price index declined from October with prices falling 0.26% from while the Composite-20 index declined 0.22% over the same period.

The 10-city composite index increased 4.17% as compared to November 2013 while the 20-city composite increased 4.31% over the same period.

Both of the broad composite indices still show significant peak declines slumping -20.55% for the 10-city national index and -19.42% for the 20-city national index on a peak comparison basis.

S&P/Case-Shiller: April 2014

Today's release of the S&P/Case-Shiller (CSI) home price indices for April reported that the non-seasonally adjusted Composite-10 price index increased with prices climbing 1.02% from March while the Composite-20 index rose 1.15% over the same period.

The 10-city composite index increased 10.84% as compared to April 2013 while the 20-city composite increased 10.82% over the same period.

Both of the broad composite indices still show significant peak declines slumping -19.01% for the 10-city national index and -18.31% for the 20-city national index on a peak comparison basis.

S&P/Case-Shiller: January 2014

Today's release of the S&P/Case-Shiller (CSI) home price indices for January reported that the non-seasonally adjusted Composite-10 price index went flat with prices rising just 0.01% from December while the Composite-20 index actually declined 0.08% over the same period.

The latest CSI data appears to be indicating that the typical seasonal deceleration in prices is underway with the extent of the slowing still to be decided with coming months data.

The 10-city composite index increased 13.54% as compared to January 2013 while the 20-city composite increased 13.24% over the same period.

Both of the broad composite indices still show significant peak declines slumping -20.42% for the 10-city national index and -19.86% for the 20-city national index on a peak comparison basis.

Today's release of the S&P/Case-Shiller (CSI) home price indices for August reported that the non-seasonally adjusted Composite-10 price index rose a notable 1.33% since July while the Composite-20 index also increased 1.32% over the same period.

The latest CSI data is continuing to demonstrate significant resiliency compared to past years, as prices remained stable through the typically slow winter and early spring period and has been rising notably through the more active spring-summer months.

The 10-city composite index increased 12.75% as compared to August 2012 while the 20-city composite increased 12.82% over the same period.

Today's release of the S&P/Case-Shiller (CSI) home price indices for June reported that the non-seasonally adjusted Composite-10 price index rose a notable 2.20% since May while the Composite-20 index also increased 2.15% over the same period.

The latest CSI data is continuing to demonstrate significant resiliency compared to past years, as prices remained stable through the typically slow winter and early spring period and now appear to be rising notably through the more active late spring period.

The 10-city composite index increased 11.89% as compared to June 2012 while the 20-city composite increased 12.07% over the same period.

Both of the broad composite indices still show significant peak declines slumping -23.39% for the 10-city national index and -22.75% for the 20-city national index on a peak comparison basis.
