The Empire State Manufacturing Survey consists of a series of diffusion indices distilled from a monthly survey of New York regional manufacturing executives and seeks to identify trends across 22 different current and future manufacturing related activities.Today’s report indicated expansion for current activity and a slight weakening for future activity with the current business conditions index leaping to 10.57 while the future conditions index declined to 48.86.
Current new orders increased to a weak expansion of 2.60 while future new orders improved slightly to 53.41.
